Werkstudent*in Research Analyst

Berlin, Climatekos (hybrid or home office possible)

Job Description:

  • Conduct research and analysis within an applied research project funded by the Chancenprogramm Höfe of the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food.
  • Support further consulting and contract research projects in the areas of climate protection and environmental financing.

Specifically contribute to the project "Socio-economic transformation dynamics of agricultural holdings in the transition to alternative proteins (SoeTRA)":

  • Research and analysis work.
  • Preparation of moderation activities (technical/practical introduction to the respective topics) for network events (workshops) and other exchange formats in the context of real laboratories (round tables, discussion groups/focus groups).
  • Support in the development and content management of the project's communication media, especially new and social media, for communication with the non-scientific (trade) public and other interest groups.

Conduct technical research and analyses for other projects as well as research and consulting assignments on topics such as deforestation-free supply chains, international climate policy and strategies, environmental financing, environment and development.

  • Assist in the creation of reports, analyses, presentations, and publications.

Expected Qualifications:

Professional Qualifications:
  • Completed basic/bachelor's degree (or comparable qualification) in Geography/Geosciences, Agriculture, Natural Sciences, Environmental Management/Policy, Economics, or a related field.
  • Sound interest in sustainable agriculture, climate science and climate policy, environment and development.
Research and Analysis Skills:
  • Ability to research, process, and synthesize information and data in a structured manner.
  • Strong analytical skills and very good writing skills.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in statistics.
  • Initial GIS knowledge is a plus.
Other Skills:
  • Structured, meticulous, and independent work style with an overview of multiple projects.
  • Independent, reliable work style and ability to collaborate in teams at national and international levels.
  • Very good IT skills and confident use of MS Office and document formatting.
  • Confident use of new and social media (including creation and management of websites and social media accounts).
  • Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written, and a good feel for clear language.

Our Offer:

YOUR ROLE

  • Conduct research and analysis within an applied research project funded by the Chancenprogramm Höfe of the Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food.
  • Support further consulting and contract research projects in the areas of climate protection and environmental financing.
  • Working hours approx. 20h/week (up to 40h/week possible during semester breaks) with fair hourly wage compensation (increase for advanced semesters) and flexible working hours.

COOPERATE AND NETWORK WITH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS

  • Work closely with cooperation partners in the SoeTRA project, including two other universities and a non-governmental organization.
  • Collaborate with other national and international partners, project teams, and external consultants worldwide on other projects.
