About Digital Beat

We are Digital Beat, shaping knowledge exchange in Artificial Intelligence, Online Marketing, Business Founding, Finance, and Personal Development. At our Cologne location, 50 employees support others and their businesses in their development through online courses, coaching, conferences, digital events, and books. Following the principle "Better with AI," we optimize existing products and launch new exciting AI-focused products. Internally, we optimize our work processes according to the #KIfirst principle.

In this environment, after your onboarding, you will take over the entire operational HR management from A-Z for around 50 employees. You will work independently, be the central point of contact in daily HR matters, and receive regular sparring from our team leadership. We are looking for a working student (m/f/d) in Human Resources, approximately 20 hours per week, to join us as soon as possible.

Areas of Responsibility:

Recruiting

  • You will be responsible for the entire recruiting process: from job postings and maintaining our career page to reviewing and pre-selecting applications.
  • You will independently conduct telephone interviews and, on-site, lead interviews with the respective hiring manager.
  • If necessary, you will actively engage in direct sourcing of talent (e.g., via LinkedIn).

Operational & Administrative HR

  • You will handle contract and reference letter creation, prepare payroll, and monitor vacation and sick leave.
  • You will organize the onboarding and offboarding of our employees.
  • You will ensure compliance with relevant labor law regulations and continuously educate yourself in this area.

People & Culture

  • You will prepare employee reviews, support managers in these meetings if needed, and handle follow-up actions.
  • You will act as a sparring partner for our team leads on culture-related topics and be the first point of contact for employees with questions or concerns.
  • You will assist in resolving minor conflicts and contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

Your Profile:

  • You are a currently enrolled student, ideally in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Psychology, Business Administration, or a comparable field of study.
  • You are a quick learner and enjoy delving into new topics, especially labor law fundamentals and HR processes, which you will manage independently in your daily work.
  • You work in a structured manner and can keep track of many small, parallel tasks.
  • You have a confident demeanor and can communicate clearly and reliably when interacting with managers and employees – for example, when gathering feedback or in job interviews.
  • You handle confidential information responsibly and act reliably and conscientiously.
  • You have excellent German language skills, both written and spoken, to confidently formulate contracts, documents, and communications.

What We Offer:

  • Flat hierarchies and a young, smart, and highly motivated team.
  • Flexible working hours and home office options.
  • A free M membership with Urban Sports Club (access to over 400 fitness studios and sports activities in Cologne and the surrounding area).
  • Regular personal feedback and development opportunities.
  • Free drinks, snacks, and exciting battles at the foosball table, table tennis, or darts.
  • We offer a public transport/job ticket upon request.
  • Whether at team events, summer parties, Christmas parties, or our annual team trip – we celebrate successes together.
