Role: Senior DevOps Engineer (Multi-Cloud)

Location: Germany (Remote) Salary: €70k-€150k (DOE)

An innovative, cloud-native technology business operating at the intersection of large-scale data and AI is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Cloud Operations function.

This role is heavily focused on production reliability and operational excellence. You'll play a key part in ensuring critical, customer-facing cloud platforms remain stable, secure, and observable as usage and complexity continue to grow.

This position is well suited to engineers who enjoy owning reliability, leading incident response, and systematically reducing operational risk in high-scale environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating and supporting large-scale, production cloud environments
• Taking ownership of Kubernetes clusters, networking, and deployment workflows
• Improving observability through better monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Leading incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements
• Automating repetitive operational tasks to reduce toil
• Enhancing the reliability, security, and performance of live systems
• Working closely with platform and infrastructure engineering teams
• Creating and maintaining runbooks, alerts, and operational documentation
• Participating in on-call rotations and long-term reliability initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused engineering roles
• Strong, hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud fundamentals
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proven experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident management
• Hands-on use of infrastructure-as-code and automation tools
• Comfortable owning production systems and being part of an on-call rota
• Clear communicator with a strong operational mindset

Desirable Experience

• Terraform or similar IaC tooling
• Observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or OpenTelemetry
• Exposure to security, compliance, or platform hardening initiatives
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or Go)
• Background in SaaS, cloud platforms, or data-heavy environments
