12-Month Contract (Extendable) | Hybrid | Munich

The Opportunity

Our client is hiring a Software Developer to support and further develop satellite acquisition and monitoring systems. This role focuses on system observability, monitoring, and data analysis for high-reliability satellite and communication environments.

You will work closely with software, systems, and communication engineers to ensure system health, transparency, and operational reliability across IP-based satellite acquisition infrastructures.

This is a 12-month contract, extendable , offered via our PAYE agency worker model. Candidates are effectively employed on a fixed-term contract , with holiday entitlement, sick pay, and standard employment benefits included.

The role is hybrid , based in Munich.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and extend Grafana dashboards for system monitoring and health analysis
  • Design and integrate database-driven monitoring solutions
  • Develop software components to analyze, process, and visualize IP-based system data
  • Work with PostgreSQL and InfluxDB to store, query, and manage monitoring data
  • Support observability and system health integration across acquisition systems
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including software, systems, and communications engineers
  • Contribute to reliable operation of mission-critical satellite systems

Non-Negotiable Requirements

  • Strong programming experience in C++, Python, and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Grafana dashboard development and maintenance
    • PostgreSQL databases
    • InfluxDB
  • Very good understanding of common IP protocols
  • Basic knowledge of communication technology (Nachrichtentechnisches Grundwissen)
  • Experience controlling, querying, and maintaining databases
  • Ability to integrate systems with health monitoring and observability solutions
  • Negotiation-level German
  • Basic English skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in satellite systems, acquisition systems, or ground segment environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring architectures and metrics pipelines
  • Experience generating and analyzing IP statistics using external libraries
  • Background in high-availability or mission-critical systems
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary engineering teams
