Job Description

As a Contractor Data Engineer, you will work on multiple modules of large-scale data platforms, building performant and scalable data solutions that deliver business value while meeting defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs).

You will take ownership of data pipelines from development to production, ensuring reliability, compliance, and high data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing systems
• Build reliable data infrastructure integrating internal systems and third-party tools
• Develop high-performance data processing and data integration solutions based on lakehouse architecture
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data protection requirements (e.g. GDPR)
• Establish and enforce data quality standards across the full ETL lifecycle
• Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively detect and resolve data issues
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across different locations

Required Skills and Experience

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering and scalable data pipeline development
• Strong hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark
• Databricks experience is mandatory
• Experience with MPP data warehouses (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCP
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in complex, data-intensive platforms
• Familiarity with data visualization and analytics use cases
• Experience working in international, cross-functional teams
