Senior DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) - Freelance

I am looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) with a focus on Operations who reliably operates, monitors, and continuously optimizes complex IT operating landscapes. You will work in a critical environment with high demands on availability, security, and quality.

Key Details:

• Start: Immediately
• Location: 100% Remote (occasional days on-site in Stuttgart)
• Contract Type: Freelance
• Engagement: 12 months

Your Responsibilities:

• Operation & maintenance of complex IT systems according to specifications and SLAs
• Ensuring availability, operating times, and response and resolution times
• Monitoring of monitoring systems & log files, including proactive measures
• Conducting operational optimization analyses and implementing improvements
• Documentation of system states, measures & regular reporting
• Setting up load balancing and building test environments
• Implementation of complex system optimizations
• Regular script creation and automation
• Responsibility for productive releases (only tested & authorized versions)
• Rolling out releases/packages according to plan, including early-life support
• Configuration of authorizations and compliance with security specifications

Your Profile:

• Many years of experience in IT operations and incident management
• Know-how at the level of an external software manufacturer
• ITIL knowledge (Transition & Operation)
• Experience in areas such as EAI, databases, web servers, monitoring
• Foundations in Linux/Windows (e.g., LPIC-1, MTA-IT)
• Good knowledge of IT networks & interfaces (SOAP, Camel/EAI etc.)
• Know-how in process & quality management
• Understanding of municipal regulations (e.g., AGAM), data protection (BayDSG/DSGAM)
• Experience in comparable roles (DevOps, Technical Management, Operations)
