Supported by an experienced long-term investor, the company is further professionalizing its financial and operational structures to support the next phase of growth.

The company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) to join the executive leadership team. The role combines strategic responsibility with hands-on execution and plays a central role in scaling the organization and strengthening operational excellence. The position is based in the Greater Dortmund Area, Germany with a flexible remote setup and regular on-site interaction as required.

What the job involves

• Serve as Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) and core member of the executive leadership team, shaping the company's financial, operational, and organizational foundation for the next phase of growth
• Take end-to-end responsibility for internal functions (finance and non-finance)
• Ensure financial transparency, operating discipline, and robust cash management
• Design and implement scalable financial, operational, and governance structures and systems
• Prepare and lead the organization through a potential future exit or transaction process, including ownership of financial due diligence
• Oversee compliance, accounting standards, tax matters, and legal frameworks in an international growth environment
• Drive operational excellence while maintaining agility and a strong people-centric culture
• Lead, develop, and empower senior teams across finance and non-finance functions
• Manage key stakeholders including shareholders, board members, auditors, and external advisors

Who we are looking for

• University degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field
• Several years of senior leadership experience as CFO, CFOO, or VP Finance in an investor-backed technology or software environment
• Proven involvement in at least one transaction or exit process, with hands-on responsibility for financial due diligence
• Deep understanding of software and SaaS business models, including subscription economics and performance metrics
• Strong expertise in FP&A, performance management, and operating discipline
• Solid practical knowledge of accounting, tax, compliance, and governance in a scaling organization
• Demonstrated success in building scalable processes, systems, and organizational structures
• Experience leading and developing teams beyond finance (e.g. Legal, IT)
• Inclusive, low-ego, and empowering leadership style with strong stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on, pragmatic mindset with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Value-driven approach with a genuine interest in people, culture, and sustainable business practices
• Language skills: Fluent German and English required
