Our client is a well established consulting group specialising in financial efficiency and public funding advisory. With thousands of employees across multiple countries, the group supports organisations globally in securing funding for innovation, driving growth, and improving profitability.

In Germany, the business has built a strong reputation within R&D tax incentives (Forschungszulage) and wider innovation and investment funding, and is continuing to scale its consulting organisation.

To support this next phase of growth, they are seeking a Head of Consulting to lead their German consulting team.

The role

As Head of Consulting Germany, you will take responsibility for the strategic, operational, and people leadership of the German consulting organisation.

You will lead a growing team of consultants across financial and technical consulting, ensuring high quality delivery, scalable structures, and sustainable growth. The role combines senior level consulting credibility with strong leadership and management responsibility, with real influence over how the organisation evolves.

You will report directly to the CEO and operate within a fully remote working model.

Key responsibilities

• Full disciplinary and functional leadership of the German consulting team
• Ongoing development of quality standards, processes, and methodologies, with a strong focus on scalability and consistency
• Further evolution of consulting structures to support growth and operational excellence
• People leadership, including mentoring, performance management, and capability development
• Ownership of consulting performance KPIs and contribution to revenue performance
• Selective involvement in complex or strategic client projects
• Acting as a senior contact for key clients, authorities, and external stakeholders
• Close collaboration with senior management, sales, and business development (with limited direct sales involvement)
• External representation of the business, supporting market positioning and credibility

Candidate profile

• Several years' experience within R&D tax incentives / public funding advisory, ideally with strong exposure to the German Forschungszulage
• Proven leadership experience within a consulting or advisory environment
• Strong people leadership capability combined with a performance-driven mindset
• Able to translate complex topics into structured, scalable solutions
• Pragmatic, hands-on leadership style with strong execution skills
• Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and executives
• Strategic thinker with the ability to operate effectively at an operational level
• Fluent English required; German highly advantageous
