About the Role
As a working student in the Pricing & Analytics team, consisting of five colleagues, you will support the team in the daily tasks of estimating the operating costs of renewable energy assets. Next Kraftwerke operates one of Europe's largest virtual power plants with over 15,000 MW of installed capacity and around 14,000 marketed plants in various European countries. The role of the Pricing & Analytics team is to estimate the operating costs for each plant and thus offer our customers the best price for marketing their electricity. The asset classes PV, wind, and hydropower are our technological focus, and we concentrate primarily on products within which we market plants in short-term electricity markets.
Your Responsibilities
- You will work at the interface between Sales, Trading, and IT.
- You will prepare the load profile data of the plants for subsequent calculations.
- You will perform the calculations necessary for cost estimation.
- You want to understand the context of the data and enjoy discussing it with your team colleagues.
- You will support ongoing projects with smaller analyses and coding tasks.
Your Profile
- You are still studying for at least one more year in the field of energy management, or in a subject with a strong quantitative focus, such as economics, finance, physics, or mathematics.
- You are proficient in using Excel.
- Ideally, you have initial programming experience in Python and/or Jupyter Notebooks.
- You enjoy teamwork, are creative, eager to learn, and love to combine knowledge from different fields.
- Knowledge of the energy industry and electricity markets is an advantage.
- You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
