Product Configuration Architect / Product Manager (m/w/d)
Product Configuration Architect / Product Manager responsible for product structure and model maintenance for the Large and Classic Engines platform.
Responsibilities:
- Creation and editing of product structure objects, release, and maintenance of the product structure in trial and series production.
- Coordinating and controlling system responsibility for the product structure.
- Using historical and current documents and data to check, modify, and release parts lists at the assembly and system level.
- Implementing development results into technical lists (e.g., parts lists) considering the numbering system and product-specific features at the system level.
- Maintenance, coordination, and overall responsibility for complete engine models in collaboration with component-responsible departments.
- Analysis and evaluation of reports, customer orders, and program requirements for optimizing existing products, aggregates, and defining component and subsystem requirements.
- Creation of schedules and, if necessary, presentation of selected alternatives.
- Initiating measurements, trials, and function tests at the system level and initiating calculation and trial orders at the system level.
- Conducting conceptual studies in the design phase regarding function, arrangement, design, and technical boundary conditions.
- Evaluating and coordinating design solutions for new and existing products, considering functional and economic aspects.
- Supporting cost and expense estimation.
- Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams within a matrix structure.
- Processing specifications, implementing requirements in the technical specifications and the Safety Management Plan.
- Ensuring product compliance at the system level.
- Communication with internal & external stakeholders, e.g., customers or suppliers.
- First technical point of contact to support the Service and After-Sales departments.
Requirements:
- Successfully completed mechanical engineering degree (Diploma / Master / Bachelor).
- Engine knowledge in the areas of engine design, thermodynamics, combustion, control technology, including exhaust gas aftertreatment systems and their interactions.
- Knowledge of technical process flows and SAP/PLM tools.
- Structured and analytical approach to work.
- Strong team and communication skills.
- Good English skills, both written and spoken.
- High team spirit, confident demeanor, and good communication skills.
- Project management experience.
- Proficient in using standard Office products, PTC Windchill, PTC Creo, and SAP.
