About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join their infrastructure and operations team. In this role, you'll act as a central point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the security, stability, and ongoing development of cloud and on-premises systems. This is a hands-on position involving close collaboration with development, support, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact for technical inquiries from internal departments and external clients
  • Provide 1st-level support for internal teams
  • Manage and administer operational tools (e.g., Sentry, CheckMK, GitLab)
  • Maintain and enhance CheckMK monitoring environments
  • Develop and manage Proxmox and Azure infrastructures
  • Administer corporate and on-premises networks (routing, port forwarding, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Implement and manage automated permission and access control systems
  • Design and improve network architecture and security measures
  • Optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Maintain and evolve AWX playbooks (Ansible)
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) to manage systems
  • Administer roles and permissions (Entra ID / Azure AD and third-party tools)
  • Build and support Azure Cloud deployment solutions
  • Dockerize and maintain application environments
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline deployment workflows

Your Profile

  • Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
  • Strong knowledge of networking: routing, VLANs, VPNs, DNS
  • Confident working with Linux systems and Bash scripting
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration tools
  • Fluency in German (mandatory) and good English skills

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Hetzner Cloud and monitoring/logging tools
  • Knowledge of Active Directory or Azure AD
