Your Mission

Phipps Cameron is a boutique executive search and recruitment business headquartered in London, with a European office in Hamburg. Hamburg operations are divided into two divisions: Senior Finance Leadership and Corporate Development. Both divisions serve private equity funds, addressing permanent and interim requirements for their portfolio companies. Additionally, the Corporate Development team collaborates with large corporate and listed businesses (FTSE 100, DAX 40, etc.).

These clients operate in fast-paced environments and demand the highest standards of talent, which Phipps Cameron has a proven track record of providing. We are an unapologetically high-performance team that emphasizes the quality of our delivery for both clients and candidates, adhering to our high standards. This commitment has led to a decade of success and a recent expansion into Europe, where our office is experiencing significant growth and has quickly established itself as the partner of choice for German-speaking and European clients and candidates.

Your Profile

Our European Division is expanding its team and seeking a high-quality consultant to join the established operation and contribute to its continued growth in German-speaking countries as well as across broader European markets. As a consultant, you will manage your own small business, working with both existing and newly acquired clients to identify and qualify their requirements. You will nurture and expand a network of candidates, enabling you to respond to these requirements quickly and effectively. Additionally, you will manage recruitment processes efficiently and reliably, finalizing placements for clients. This position requires a self-starting, motivated individual who learns quickly through hands-on experience.

Requirements:

  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn are vital for success.
  • Confidence in building rapport with senior clients and candidates is essential.
  • A well-educated background, likely including a university degree, is preferred.
  • Resilience and consistent performance demonstrate your ability to overcome challenges.
  • Effective communication in business-level English is required, with additional languages like German, French, or Dutch being a plus.
  • Highly organised, able to utilise systems and methods for process management and planning.
  • Natural curiosity and initiative are valued traits, with a tendency to act without prompts from others.
  • The ability to strategise and think holistically about various topics is important.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Proficiency with basic computing skills, including Microsoft 365 and online management systems, is expected.
  • Experience in M&A, corporate development, private equity, or finance is advantageous but not required.
  • Previous recruitment experience is a plus but not essential.
