About Shopware

Shopware is a leading e-commerce system that enables companies worldwide to scale quickly and efficiently in digital commerce. As a future-oriented open-source solution, Shopware is already used by some of Europe's largest brands, retailers, and manufacturers in the B2C and B2B sectors.

Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager (m/f/d) who will be responsible for and further develop a strategically relevant product domain with significant business impact. In this role, you will define the long-term direction, manage multi-quarter priorities, and ensure that product investments are closely aligned with corporate strategy. You will work with a high degree of autonomy and strong product judgment, bring clarity to complex contexts, and consistently align cross-functional teams towards outcome-oriented execution.

This role carries strategic responsibility at the management level with regular communication at the senior leadership level, but is clearly focused on product leadership and domain ownership -- without disciplinary personnel responsibility.

This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, or fully remote within Germany or in specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and will form the basis of your employment contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Responsibility for your Product Domain: You define and shape the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your product domain, aligning it clearly with strategic company goals.
  • Discovery & Opportunity Assessment: You lead cross-functional discovery initiatives, conduct thorough opportunity assessments, and translate insights into impact-oriented product initiatives.
  • Alignment Across Teams: You bring Engineering, UX, Marketing, and Leadership together, create priority clarity, and ensure technical implementation supports strategic goals.
  • Outcome-Oriented Execution: You define measurable success criteria and directly link product initiatives to business KPIs. Post-launch, you analyze adoption, usage, and qualitative feedback.
  • Structured Product Communication: You draft clearly structured product briefs, problem statements, and acceptance criteria, ensuring transparency about decisions and trade-offs.
  • Continuous Optimization: You review product performance, evaluate results, and continuously iterate based on data and user feedback.
  • Strategic Risk Management: You identify technical, commercial, delivery-related, and regulatory risks early on and develop appropriate countermeasures.
  • External Representation & Enablement: You represent your product to customers, partners, and at events, and support Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success in positioning and activation.
  • Coaching & Thought Leadership: You support other Product Managers through feedback, structured thinking approaches, and strategic impulses, thereby strengthening the product organization as a whole.

What You Bring:

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in product management, with increasing strategic responsibility.
  • Independent responsibility for a product domain or a central product line with measurable business impact is part of your experience.
  • A strong product mindset -- user-centric, value-oriented, and results-focused -- shapes your work.
  • You confidently apply advanced discovery methods and structured opportunity assessments, and can clearly prioritize potential.
  • Experience in Opportunity Sizing, Business Case Development, and Portfolio Prioritization enables you to make well-founded decisions even under resource constraints.
  • You combine quantitative metrics with qualitative insights to derive clear strategic decisions.
  • Strategic roadmap development and holistic portfolio thinking are natural to you -- even in dynamic, changing environments.
  • You approach risk management proactively and structurally, both technically and commercially.
  • With clear, audience-appropriate communication, you convince both technical and non-technical stakeholders and create alignment at the senior level.
  • High self-responsibility, execution strength, and evidence-based product conviction characterize you.
  • You are comfortable in complex and ambivalent situations, constructively question assumptions, and influence without formal authority.
  • Experience in the SaaS, platform, e-commerce, or ecosystem environment is an advantage.
  • Very good English and German language skills are required.
  • You are willing to travel occasionally for workshops, events, and trade fairs, or for customer meetings.

What We Offer:

  • Company Culture: Open culture, flat hierarchies, initiative is encouraged.
  • Employment Contracts: Permanent positions offer long-term security.
  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and options for mobile work and full-remote contracts.
  • Equipment: Free choice of work hardware.
  • Onboarding: Well-structured onboarding with support from a personal "buddy".
  • Work Environment: Inspiring environment with dedicated colleagues and a dynamic community.
  • Development Opportunities: Diverse opportunities for personal growth and development.
  • Additional Benefits: Attractive benefits such as company pension plan, health programs, and regular team events.
