Location: Bremen, Germany (Relocation Required) Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

🚀 The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on VP of People to lead the HR function and shape the organisation's people strategy.

This role will take full ownership of HR operations, organisational development, and culture initiatives while acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

You will lead a multidisciplinary HR team and play a key role in driving transformation, strengthening engagement, and ensuring effective people processes.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Human Resources function, including oversight of HR and internal service teams
  • Define and execute the overall HR strategy aligned with organisational goals
  • Drive continuous improvement of talent acquisition processes
  • Design and enhance onboarding and employee integration programs
  • Implement initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and retention
  • Develop and manage performance management frameworks, including goal setting and feedback cycles
  • Partner closely with executive leadership on organisational and people development initiatives
  • Lead organisational development projects and change management programs
  • Collaborate closely with employee representative bodies / works council
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on all HR-related matters
  • Oversee labour law-related topics and personnel measures
  • Manage HR budgeting and workforce planning processes
  • Drive HR process optimisation through technology and digitalisation initiatives
  • Strengthen organisational culture and cross-functional collaboration

👤 Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Labour Law, Business Administration, or related field
  • Extensive experience in Human Resources with proven leadership responsibility
  • Strong expertise in German labour law, works council collaboration, organisational development, and change management
  • Experience working in complex, international environments
  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach
  • Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • High resilience, empathy, and ability to influence at all organisational levels
  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
