Senior Product Engineer -- Early Stage (<10 headcount) -- Germany (Remote)
We're working with an early-stage Berlin-based startup building a collaborative platform allowing creatives to draft, edit and publish together in a unified, real-time environment.
What you'll do
- Own product development end-to-end: discovery, build, ship, and operate
- Work closely with design and product to turn problems into shipped features
- Build complex, highly interactive UIs (this is a real editor, not a marketing site)
- Develop offline-first and real-time collaboration features
- Tackle distributed systems challenges (sync, conflict resolution, availability)
- Improve performance through profiling and architectural improvements
- Write clear technical documentation (designs, specs, test plans)
- Help shape engineering practices as the product and team scale
Tech stack
- React, Next.js, TypeScript (thick-client application)
- Backend in TypeScript and Clojure
- Real-time collaboration with Yjs (CRDTs, local-first data)
- ProseMirror / Tiptap editor
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions (multiple daily production deploys)
- Infrastructure on Vercel, AWS, and Fly.io
