Senior Accountant (AI Scale Up)

Introduction to the Position

My client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a fast-growing, innovative technology company. This role is ideal for a finance professional with 5+ years of accounting experience and strong knowledge of local German GAAP, with some exposure to IFRS considered beneficial but not essential.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing all-round accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while also supporting group-level processes and cross-border operations. You will collaborate closely with the finance team to streamline workflows and leverage automation, helping to build scalable finance operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local GAAP.
• Perform regular reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of statements for management and external stakeholders.
• Support group-level accounting processes, including intercompany reconciliations and cross-border operations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Contribute to the development of scalable accounting workflows and best practices.

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a technology or fast-growing company.
• Strong knowledge of local German GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• All-round accounting expertise, including general ledger, reconciliations, AR/AP, and financial reporting.
• Understanding of finance systems and automation tools is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to support both junior and senior members of the finance team.
