Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f/d) for Autonomous Driving Perception

Ihre Aufgaben
- Durchführung und Leitung von Spitzenforschung im Bereich Computer Vision für autonomes Fahren mit dem Ziel, hochwertige Veröffentlichungen auf Top-Konferenzen (z. B. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV) und in renommierten Fachzeitschriften zu erzielen
- Strategische Weiterentwicklung der Forschungsgruppe durch das Verfassen wettbewerbsfähiger Forschungsanträge zur Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
- Wissenschaftliche Betreuung sowie Projektmanagement-Unterstützung für Promovierende sowie Master- und Bachelorstudierende
- Verwaltung und Pflege der fortgeschrittenen Forschungsinfrastruktur, einschließlich Einrichtung und Wartung unserer autonomen Sensorfahrzeuge sowie des Computer-Vision-Labors
- Hochwertige Lehre (4 SWS) im Bereich Computer Vision oder intelligente Mobilität sowie Unterstützung der Professur in der akademischen Administration
Ihr Profil
- Hervorragend abgeschlossenes Promotionsstudium in Informatik, Robotik oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet mit ausgeprägter Spezialisierung auf Computer Vision für autonomes Fahren
- Tiefgehende technische Expertise in Python und PyTorch sowie praktische Erfahrungen mit ROS und Sensorhardware (LiDAR, Kameras)
- Wissenschaftliche Exzellenz, nachgewiesen durch eine starke Publikationsliste und Erfahrung in der Antragstellung oder Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
- Ausgeprägte Betreuungskompetenzen und Begeisterung für die Begleitung von Forschenden in frühen Karrierephasen sowie für die Betreuung studentischer Projekte
- Sehr gute Englisch- und Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift, um effektiv zu lehren, mit regionalen Partnern zusammenzuarbeiten und in einem internationalen Forschungsumfeld zu kommunizieren

Your tasks
- Conduct and lead cutting-edge research in computer vision for autonomous driving, aiming for high-impact publications in top-tier conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV) and journals
- Drive the group's strategic growth by actively writing competitive research proposals to secure third-party funding
- Provide scientific mentorship and project management guidance to PhD candidates, Master's, and Bachelor's students
- Manage advanced research infrastructure, including the maintenance and setup of our autonomous sensor vehicles and the computer vision laboratory
- Deliver high-quality teaching (4 SWS) in the field of computer vision or intelligent mobility and support the professor in academic administration
Your profile
- Outstanding Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, with a deep specialization in computer vision for autonomous driving
- Profound technical expertise in Python and PyTorch and hands-on experience with ROS and sensor hardware (LiDAR, Cameras)
- Academic excellence demonstrated by a strong publication record and experience in grant writing or acquiring third-party funding
- Strong mentorship skills and enthusiasm for guiding early-career researchers and supervising student projects
- Fluent English and German (written and spoken) to effectively teach, collaborate with local partners, and communicate within an international research environment
