Working Student* in Politics & External Relations

Location: Berlin

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited to one year, with a good prospect of extension. You will work in our office in Berlin-Mitte. Working from home is possible at any time in agreement with your team. The scope of work is 20 hours/week to enable your further qualification within the ongoing training. The hourly wage is 15 Euros per hour.

As a working student, you will work in the Berlin office of Welthungerhilfe, supporting the Politics department as well as the Berlin office team with organizational and administrative tasks. You will gain exciting insights into the workings of one of Germany's largest NGOs and the interface between administration and political work.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • Support in the preparation and execution of events (online and on-site).
  • Support with organizational and administrative tasks in the Berlin office.
  • Assistance with research on politically and strategically relevant topics.
  • Support in creating texts (e.g., for internal documents, publications, or online communication).
  • Creation and maintenance of information and work materials (e.g., briefings, presentations, notes).
  • Collaboration in maintaining the contact management system and further developing filing structures (e.g., SharePoint in the intranet).
  • Undertake other exciting tasks to contribute to the success of the team and the organization as a whole.

Your Profile:

  • You are enrolled at a university or college, preferably in political science, social sciences, or a related field of study.
  • You are interested in development policy issues and keen to support event organization and administrative tasks.
  • You tackle tasks independently, practically, and solution-oriented, working in a structured and reliable manner.
  • You have very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • You enjoy writing and editorial tasks.
  • You have good computer skills (MS Office) and enjoy working with digital tools like Miro or Microsoft Teams.
  • You are communicative, team-oriented, and interested in a long-term collaboration beyond at least one year.
