Revolutionize Aviation Data for Sustainability

The Challenge: Aircraft and airlines generate massive amounts of data that are rarely aggregated and leveraged. This leads to critical decisions being based on fragmented or misinterpreted information, resulting in financial inefficiencies and avoidable CO2 emissions.

💻 Our Solution: At Skailark, we empower airlines to make smarter decisions, both financially and environmentally. Our platform is a digital twin of the global aviation market, modeling every seat on every flight across all airlines. We track fuel burn, CO₂ emissions, fleet costs, maintenance cycles, and operational constraints, enabling airlines to simulate decisions and optimize performance. Skailark is trusted by leading airlines and airports, demonstrating where complex data meets real impact.

Your Role: Ownership of Aviation Data and Financial Modeling

You will take full ownership of our aviation data throughout its lifecycle, from collection and validation to sourcing new datasets. Your primary goal is to ensure our data is accurate, reliable, and continuously increasing in value.

Furthermore, you will oversee the development and evolution of our airline finance & cost models, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with real-world aviation dynamics. You will collaborate closely with our Head of Product to enhance our digital twin, generating insights with tangible impact. This role uniquely combines hands-on data management and modeling with deep aviation domain expertise.

Responsibilities:

2. Aviation Finance & Economic Modeling

  • Translate real-world airline economic dynamics into robust model frameworks.
  • Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of these models.
  • Validate model outputs against industry benchmarks and real-world data.
  • Collaborate with modeling and data colleagues to integrate models into the product.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in consulting, financial analysis, or economics.
  • Prior experience leading a small team.
  • Highly structured, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Independent, self-driven, and delivery-focused with a "getting things done" mindset.
  • Ability to independently translate real-world correlations into insightful model concepts.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting frameworks and financial data models.
  • A background in aviation is a plus.
  • Basic technical skills in Alteryx are a plus.
  • Must be based in Munich or willing to relocate. A valid European Union work permit is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (German not required).

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Flexible working hours with the option to work from home 2 days/week.
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing, cutting-edge tech startup.
  • Make a meaningful impact on the aviation industry.
  • Ongoing professional development through structured coaching.
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Team events, offsites, and aviation-themed activities.
